Wwii Photo German
What can you tell me about this picture of german soldiers (from WWII)?

there is the link to the image,
they seem to have german helmets, and german uniforms(WWII era?) but the descriptions i have foun everywhere else say nothing about the picture. i am curious, if they are actually German soldiers. there are no other signs that i can see to distinguish them from other german soldiers, except for the painted skull. are they SS? regular german military? “one of those groups of soldiers that does something cool like that, and someone just happend to take a picture of them”?

They are probably members of the 3rd SS Division Totenkopf, due to the skull on the helmuts. Their nickname was the “Deaths Head or Skull Division.”

or they were members of the 5th SS Panzer Division Viking, due to the url saying Finland, because the 5TH SS Division Viking was made up of Scandanavians led by German officers.
