Airborne Paratrooper Jump
What kind of contract do I request from the recruiter if I want to be a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Div
I know that if one wants to be with the 75th Ranger Regiment, he asks for an Option 40 Contract. Is there a similar contract for those who wish to serve with the 82nd Airborne Division. I don’t just want Airborne School on my contract but I want to be a paratrooper, not just a solider who completed 5 jumps, got qualified and thats it. My recruiter told me I should go for Ranger Contract, but if I sign up for that I want to be in peak physical condition, right now I could easily pass Ranger Fitness requirements but I want to score higher since they recommend Maximum performance for RIP. I have a feeling by end of summer I will be there but I would like to know my options regarding just being a reg. paratrooper as well just in case. Thanks.
Awesome, this is right up my alley. Listen, if you want FT. Bragg, the 82nd ABN and infantry to be a true paratrooper you need to do this:
1st. You need to enlist 11B
2nd. Airborne
3rd. FT Bragg (duty station of choice)
This will 98% ensure you a slot in Division. The only other place a new private could would be F Co. 51st LRS (ABN). A good unit and hard to get in.
Do this is you want the 82nd unless they have a direct enlistment option with the 82nd in the contract. Get everything in writing and you PASS all your training to get to the unit. If your in shape and have the right attitude, then it’s no problem.
Now, all the RIP stuff is the Ranger Regiment. Be there too in RIP and worked the Ranger School. Good route also.
